What a campsite! Right next to the mountain stream

In my last blog posting I talked about wanting mountains, forests, green things to look at, cooler temps,......., well Kirk's next destination was spot on! We were camped next to a flowing river that just sounded so soothing, up in the Wasatch Mountains near American Fork Utah. Our campsite was perfect! Picnic table, fire ring, woods all around us, the sound of the river..... I thought I died and went to heaven!

Our first day was spent golfing a mountain golf course --- what views! I only wish the scores were as good as the scenery!

The second day was another golf day at a mountain, lake golf course. As if we did not have enough issues day one, we decided to add more challenges and throw in a lot of water. Surprisingly, the scores ended up better but it was a 5 1/2 hour round!
Day three was spent touring the area. We took a short hike around Cascade Springs, a beautiful area where the water is fed year round from underground sources. We made our way to Park City via winding, dirt mountain roads through aspen groves and lovely vistas! Park City was a busy mountain ski town with lots of shops. We passed through and avoided fighting the July 4th tourist mob. After the sight seeing tour, we went back to the campsite and I used my new hammock for the first time. Read my book and sipped iced tea, listened to the river flowing by and waited (as always) for Kirk to fix dinner. After dinner we headed to town and watched the fireworks display. I must say that this was my favorite campsite and would love to visit it again. It is located in the American Fork Canyon - Timpanagos National Monument in Uinta National Forest. Laying in bed every night listening the sound of nature was marvelous! Sunday morning, July 5th we hitched up early and headed for West Yellowstone, Montana. Kirk wants to go fly fishing so bad!
Happy Fourth of July to all our families and friends! We miss all of you!
