Yellowstone - Day One

There are many of you who have had the opportunity to visit Yellowstone National Park so some of the pictures maybe familiar. I decided labeling them would not be relevant since the pictures themselves tell the story.
Kirk and I are camping in Gallatin National Forest. There are lots of very large campers that also have brought along ATV's. Our 30 foot camper looks puny compared to the mamba jamba units around us. It seems that the area is popular for ATV'ers. However, our interest is Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. Day one was spent visiting many of the geysers, pools, mud pots in an area called Norris Geyser Basin. Lots of interesting sights! I included a video of a mud pot since a picture does not do it justice. Our plan is to see Old Faithful on Tuesday. Kirk was absolutely drooling over the streams and rivers: he so wanted to do some flyfishing. We must find time for him to do that. If not in Yellowstone, at least in someplace in Montana. I plan on reading a book while he fishes.
Our campsite is buried in the woods and we are enjoying the peace and quiet.

Below is a video of mud pots in action. Just click on the play icon and see the action.
