Good Morning Everyone,
The last 4 days have been busy with visiting Kirk's dad, golfing and enjoying family and old friends. We are sitting here as I write this, sipping coffee, looking at the Rocky Mountains and getting ready to hitch up and head for New Mexico.
We arrived Wednesday in Denver and were working our way to the campground - Cherry Creek State Park and "Jack" our GPS' persona, had a brain fluff and directed us through subdivisions in the midst of rush hour traffic and generally got real confused. We cutoff traffic once, snarled at each other a few times and ended up at the wrong entrance. With much relief we made it to the campsite and it was a wonderful site. Kirk is getting pretty darn good at backing this baby up!
Thursday we played golf at Raccoon Creek with an old friend Joe. Friday Kirk and I played at Murphy Creek - what a tough course that was. And for the first time in my life, I got up at 4:45 AM to play golf! Whose idea was that anyway! We had tee times Saturday at 6:00 AM and played with Joe and Carmi (old Omaha friends). Golf scores were not stellar and certainly reflected the course difficulties. I must say that Denver has lots of great courses and Kirk and I think a golf week here would be in order next summer (so get ready Terry and Wendy).
Kirk's dad B.V., is doing great for a 94 year old and the assisted living facility is perfect for him. with good food, lots of activities, very clean well kept facility. B.V. and Kirk played their annual pool tournament. B.V. womped Kirk on day one by beating Kirk 3 games out of 4. Next round Kirk won all 3 games so he gets bragging rights for the upcoming year. On Friday night we had dinner with B.V., and other family members (Donna, Tori, John, Joy, Allison). Saturday, we brought B.V. over to the trailer for a cookout and to see our traveling home. He really enjoyed sitting outside with us and Kirk prepared some great kebobs! It was a wonderful time for all of us.

We miss you lots and lots! Things are just not the same without multiple phone calls over the weekend OR a Baba/Pappy visit.
ReplyDeleteCostco called and is wondering when Kirk is coming home...
Travel safe and talk to you soon...Patti
